Sam was doing weird things to his head, which wasn't anything new, honestly, the kid had been fucking with his head since he learned how to say no, and it wasn't even those goddamned fucking shitty powers trying to pull a whammy on him. Just Sam with his anger and grief and empathy and cruelty and impossible dreams.
I love the build of Dean's anger against the weirdness, which to him embodies the threat that's been going on for so long to his lifetime mission of keeping Sam safe. It's like Sam's turned to a snake in his hands.
I love that paragraph - seems to sum up their issues in the past seasons. It all came to a head. I also love thinkety!Sam very much. In your story and looking at him through Dean's eyes, I also find Sam pitiful, even if dangerous. I've always loved that Sam is a freak, one way or another. It's relatable (to me).
