Also, I know I've been posting a lot these last few weeks.  This is because: one, I talk a lot anyway no seriously it's pretty amazing sometimes, and two, because my dissertation is wringing the life out of me but I don't feel like reading much escapism!fic and I feel guilty trying to write it and gah, I'm sure this all makes sense somewhere.  And I know how I want to end Eir's Tomorrow now except I'm afraid of disappointing people and so I intimidate myself, which means I put off writing and I know that irritates people because I get messages asking what the hold up is, and then I feel guilty all over again and it's all a VICIOUS CYCLE of VICIOUSNESS.  And it's been like three years since I actually participated in this fandom outside writing my own fic and I don't know what's going on anymore Out There and I'm all like DDD:    WHY NO I'M NOT NEUROTIC WHY WOULD YOU EVEN ASK.

GIVE HER PSYCHIC WAVES OF AWESOME.  And yes, the judicious application of Fenrir has made my sickness toss up its metaphorical arms in defeat.  The enemy has been routed and it's only a matter of time before I have no excuse to take nighttime opiates total victory.

(Yeah, y'know, Eir's, that one fic I haven't updated in a while because all the characters are like JESUS EFFING CHRIST CAN WE HAVE A BREATHER, IT'S NOT LIKE IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD OR ANYTHING, so I slunk off to play at being a student that does academic bullshit for a little while.  And I am now craving a Pixie Stix and Cheerios sandwich.)

I got my first flame in a few years.  ^^;  It concerns mental illness and my commentary on it in the most recent chapter of Eir's.

I don't mean to moralize about it, and I don't mean to undermine other people's struggles with it.  I put it in mainly to stress the fact that there are no quick fixes to the effects of what I've put the characters through thus far.  It's also something I truly believe in, even having my own conditions, and while I (for now, at least,) won't remove that section, I am sincerely sorry for having pissed anyone off.

If anyone thinks I've overstepped my boundaries, or that it's unnecessary in some way, please say so.  I'd like to know why and whether it should remain, be reworded, or cut entirely.

ETA: Answered my own question.  Upon further reflection (on the bus, and having finished all my reading material) I've decided to cut out that first bit of ch.16.  My opinion on the matter hasn't changed, but it did make me reconsider the mechanics aspect and whether it really fit in with the rest of the story (given its second-person POV and rathe rmeta tone).  With Aeris being her Awesome Healer Self, I think the idea can be better integrated into the story through her actions rather than my blatant commentary.  So, there you go.  ^^
