Additionally, if someone who hadn't played the game still wanted to start reading fic because they thought it sounded interesting, what fics would anyone recommend? I haven't really read anything in this fandom since around '08 (yes, I'm that precise, what can I say), so I may not be the best person for this task. Any rating, any kink, and probably any pairing until this person can get a feel for the characters. Cafeteria-style love, baby.

ETA: Thank you to everyone who left recs. :DDD I'll give them a try myself someday, most likely, but not until I'm done with my own time-travel story; I'm terrified of seeing something that I'll want to incorporate myself or of seeing something I'd planned to do and feeling obligated to change it.
