Knowing Zack forgets to check his mail if it doesn't arrive as a text message, Sephiroth just sends it to Cloud instead.



jukeboxhound : i need a calligraphy/handwriting style for sephiroth.  genesis is easy and i've got angeal and aeris, but sephiroth isn't cooperating.    not sure if i want to do the classy script or more obviously-trained-in-a-lab print.
jukeboxhound : script would be nice, but.

chofi : Well, there's a good argument for having doctor-ese, since you'd need to write things down quickly for notes, but you tend to associate print with mechanical and impersonal things. Depends on how old-school you want Sephiroth to be. With OG!Sephiroth, I'd say print. With CC!Sephiroth, he'd probably have some sort of personality to it.
chofi : Maybe something like Getty-Dubay where some letters are linked, and others not?

chofi : And since the style of "Z's" is the same, this implies that there is some sort of unified curriculum.*

chofi : HE READ THE TALE OF GENJI/THE PILLOWBOOK OF SEI SHONAGON/INSERT OTHER HEIAN WORK HERE AND IT MOVED HIM. MOVED.
chofi : (Will now have Genesis with various colored inks and papers and scents, as headcanon.)
jukeboxhound : do they correspond to his artistic periods?
jukeboxhound : zack: oi, i thought regulation said everything has to be in black ink.
                             angeal: genesis is in his blue period.
chofi : Well, with Heian note-passing, you have to select an ink color/paper/scent combo that is appropriate to the message and to the season.
jukeboxhound : i was not aware of this tradition.
chofi : I think he'd attempt something like that, and mourn when the ignorant plebes don't understand it at all. Why is his life pain?
jukeboxhound : goddamnit don't make me laugh when i have tea and medication in my mouth.

I think their reaction would be somewhere along the lines of, "We thought you were fucking a SOLDIER to stay in ShinRa but you're just his secretary, aren't you?" To go with some fandom cliches.

Only because chofi is made of win and some knowledge about everything.

Re-reading this post I got all giggly and smiling over this Probably after Genesis has beaten it into his head that one's writing must express ~*~personality~*~. He'd probably just go "Fine. Italic." and then that's that.

I can so imagine Sephiroth staring flatty at Genesis while he waxes poesy about writing and script.
Then Genesis finally get to the point and there's a long blank moment where everybody stares expectantly at the General and he goes "Fine. Italic" before bending back over his report and signing a bit exageratly in italic.
Angeal would be holding back a smirk/smile with difficulties and Genesis would be still trying to decide if he should be offended by this lack of creativeness despite all the examples he had given or extatic that Sephiroth was actually showing some individualism.

I think their reaction would be somewhere along the lines of, "We thought you were fucking a SOLDIER to stay in ShinRa but you're just his secretary, aren't you?" To go with some fandom cliches.
And then soldiers and sergeants and pretty much everycowardbody would give their memo/reports/whining to Cloud to be passed to the General...

...I kinda want quiet!stubborn!practical!Cloud to end up the Official Messenger Boy because everyone else is too afraid to deal with Sephiroth and because he's one of the few that can keep Zack's affairs in order.

And people would ask if he could 'pass that to the General' and he would say 'yes, of course' and go, puzzled as to why people couldn't seem to go see the General themselves.
