Rough drafts for the [livejournal.com profile] femmeslash_bang are due on Saturday.  Just thought I'd share the moment of WAIT WHAT HOW IS IT THAT TIME ALREADY GODDAMN.  In the spirit of rough drafts spellcheck proofreading editing, a meme nicked from around LJ:

What do people generally expect from my writing?

positive and/or negative
i ask mostly in the interest of wanting to continually improve my writing
but pure curiosity is poking around in the corners too

Hrm... Overclocking little ideas/questions into pieces that are longer than what I'm able to produce.

Also, good thought dialogue. Is that even the right way to express it? Let's do it another way: when you transcribe someone's thoughts, you do it well.

So...by overclocking, you mean dragging something out into 148k+ words instead of keeping it short and sweet? Yeeeeah, no comment. XD

Hey, overclocking improves the performance of things. I think it's a good thing because to me, writing over 600 words for one piece is like some sort of torture. There's laconic, but goddamn.

Fucking. Awesome. Characterizations.

New/creative ways of seeing themes we all think we know 'like the back of our hand' (you make em' FRESH!)

Totally believable dialogue (see Characterization, but also the ability to make a 'real' conversation happen without forcing it)

PS: Your SPN beta-crack monkey awaits your pleasure madame... ;)

Ha, oh dear, funny you should say that, I'm having issues with my femmeslash BB because the character whose POV I'm writing is more difficult than I anticipated and it's nerve-wracking, oh god. (You should play Final Fantasy VII or really any of the Final Fantasies just so I'd have another person that'll squee with me. NEVER TOO MANY.)

Dude, I still haven't seen the last four SPN episodes. DDD: I've been busy with other things and then Iron Man was like LOL LOOK AT MY CHARMING ASSHOLENESS AND BROMANCE WITH CAPTAIN AMERICA and I was like, goddamnit, Tony. ...Though now I'm wondering how making Dean = Iron Man and Sam = Captain America could work. Hmm. We've got the engineering/charm/sluttiness/martyr complex/self-loathing on the one hand, but then, Sam shares Tony's tendency to use any means necessary to achieve his goals, so this will require more thought in adapting characters to predetermined roles.

I know I make a lot of promises about what I will and won't do but I want, I want, to try the SPN BB again this next coming round. Except it'll be that canon-divergent DM!Sam and Trekkie!Dean fic I talked about with you before and titled +2 Stupid, which means I'll once again be all like HELP ME HSIFEEEEEENG YOU'RE MY ONLY HOPE.

*chuckle* Oh no you don’t! You won’t be luring me into any other fandoms temptress! *grin*

How are you so behind on SPN? Ignore the Tony Stark in the corner, he’ll still be there looking all sassy and bad-ass when you get back to him. *waggles eyebrows* Although I will say, I am ALL FOR a little IronMan!Dean/CaptainAmerica!Sam action. *lascivious smile*

And as for DM!Sam/Trekkie!Dean – I sorta feel like I was there for the birth of this baby and BY GOD I will see it off to college! *grin* You can’t threaten ME with a good time! ;)

Bring. It.

Oh holy hell. I am physically *twitching* at the thought of the Epic Art that could be had for either of these tales…

/not an artist, only a dreamer *grin*

PS: Did you GISHWHES? Just curious because evil spin-offy Son Of GISHWHES action is sorta in the offing and I may want to throw things at your creative/devious/malicious side and see what sticks… ;)

What do people generally expect from my writing?

Entertainment mostly. And a new take on overused plot ideas.

I've come to a point where I don't really care about the way it's written (though there are limits in bad writing that I'll accept), I'm mostly interested in the plot, trying to find new way the story could have turned out.
Also, humor, but not too crass. It feels good to read something light and mildly funny from time to time, because there's already way too much angst in the rl news.

You make things seem so painfully REAL. D: It's sometimes gut-wrenching, but even when it is I can't stop reading until I see the end of your stories.

There's also, of course, the characterization. For example: WHO KNEW ELENA COULD HAVE A PERSONALITY? :D You gave her one!
