there's no place like home.

Found a tattoo artist I loved with a reasonable rate and now my lovely wolf will never leave my side. (Hip and thigh, technically, but that's just splitting hairs.)
Now home and bearing fic. Chapters for Eir's Tomorrow, Imperfect Tense, and All Your Base Belong to Us aren't yet finished - sitting on your ass watching every free movie on cable takes up more time than you'd think - but should be relatively soon. In the meantime, I'll post the myriad oneshots/drabble memes. No doubt my presence will be pronounced in people's f-lists this week, so fair warning.
canopy_walker is training me in the ways of Magic. I'm now working on a red/blue deck and a second deck with a prevalence of dark deathy things. It makes me happy. (And goddamn me if she hasn't slowly gotten me into Avatar and the Zuko/Aang plotbunnies are RAGING.)

Date: 2008-07-29 02:17 pm (UTC)Have you watched up to the introduction of Jet? Or the final ep, with Ozai and Aang?
SPOILERS:
END
As for your fics, I’m torn between asking you to take as long as you want and begging you desperately to hurry up. On the one hand: good fic with more potential for goodiness. On the other: good fic. Either way, I’ll be looking forward to your posts. ♥

Date: 2008-08-14 11:08 pm (UTC)Wolves are freakin' awesome! I love them to pieces! Or not, literally, but love them! Awesome about that tatoo! I think my cousin got one on his forearm, haven't seen him in awhile, though.
My family used to have a pure bred wolf. He was pure black, white underbelly, beautiful snout, and fur that was like a large coat, piercing gold eyes that illuminated in the dark - and his paws were huge, even as a pup. His head had reached up passed my brother's waist in adult-hood. And my brother is about 6'0, give or take.
His name was Mingan - wolf in Ojibway. I didn't spell it right, but (Mih-gn-gahn) was how you pronounced it. The 'gn' is more nasal sounding, 'g' is almost silent, but adds more of a 'Nn!' to the 'n'.
We got him from my uncle, and until Mingan's dying day, he hated him. Always growled. But Mingan saw us as his pack - Dad was the Alpha. I think I read once that you shouldn't raise a dog, especially a wolf-breed along with your children, but we proved that was a lie. We were still kids when we got him as a pup, and he was the most gentle dog, ever. He never jumped on any of the kids, never barked or growled at them, patiently let us or them tug at his fur and roll all over him. Always followed us, and when people wandered into the yard (Yes, people, strangers walking the highway, wandered INTO our yard, any yard back then - they don't anymore) he'd do a huge burst of speed, and stand at attention, his body in front of us, length-wise, head cocked in the person's direction, silent, staring at them. They went away right quick.
He did his business in the woods out back, never in the yard, ate what we ate - any of the adults made threatening moves to us, he'd growl and come forward, like mentioned before. Hated people in masks - teenagers or adults couldn't come up to us with them on at Halloween or winter time, I'll say that much.
That was a damn good spirit-brother, and I rambled enough about him - but I don't think I'll ever have a dog or wolf, for that matter, like Mingan. The kicker? Mingan wasn't trained in any of these things, he just did them, like instinct.
Darn! XD Now I want a wolf, again. I think it's illegal, though, I THINK. Actually, I'm pretty sure it was back then, too - OOPS. Uncle never listened to anyone though, bless him. XP
