Against all expectation and despite a lukewarm premiere, SPN's sixth season is turning out fucking epic.  (Haters to the left, tyvm.)  I don't think I've ever gotten physically nauseous with excitement and OMG SPECULATION over a television show before.

Also, people made me arts and they're awesome.  (You may notice a theme here.)
1. A Christmas Samifer icon by [livejournal.com profile] emo_dj_steph .  Gankable if you want.
2. "Samifer" by focaccina (holy crap yay!)

[livejournal.com profile] chofi  said that the tail in the latter pic made her think naughty things a la Temptation, so of course now it's all I can think about.  Should make the paper on Lithuanian charms on which I'm meant to be working rather interesting.  (C'mon, those theology students need a little humor in their gospels.)

I think I'm biased because not only are they hitting a few kinks of mine but also because I'm willing to suspend some mild disbelief when it comes to characterization on the show. (It's never consistent, ever, which is one of the things I dislike about serials.) I thought that S6 is starting to get back that SamnDean Against the World feel, despite Dean's RAAAGE, especially in comparison to the clusterfucks of S4+5.

But again, kinks. They excuse a lot. :D I AM NOT ASHAMED.

Someone who somehow keeps managing to suck up my attention online. I mean, it's almost like I like talking to her, it's weird. What's wrong me?

Yep, I am firmly back in the "believers" column post-Dean's Beat Down of Sammy. Don’t know why that one scene made my whole SPN world right again, but it did.*

Tonight I finally get to watch last week’s episode, and this week I even get to watch the episode as it airs (for the first time since the season began – because I have been out of town every friggin weekend!).

*happy dance*

*And I think I owe about 1000 ‘mea culpas’ to Sera and the writers for my prior grumbling…

Ha, the scene that did it for you was the same scene that made so many fans cry foul and wankery. XD

Whatevah, haters gonna hate. :P

To me, it was the first real 'emotion' shared by both characters. Sammy knew he had screwed with Dean too long, and he took a beating to prove he was sorry (pup didn't raise a finger to defend himself, and we all know he could have). And Dean, he bought in to saving Sammy at that moment. He put the knife down, and did what he had to do in order to clear the air.

While Sam may not 'feel' what he did was wrong, he showed that Dean was still important enough to him that he would allow himself to be hurt to make Dean feel better.

And Dean, he cleared the slate.

They aren't back to an even keel by a long shot, but that felt like the first honest exchange they'd had since the beginning of the season.

*shrug*

Anywho, that's how I see it.
