I was surprised at how much I had forgotten... also reading such amazing fic I had accidentally assumed things had happened that actually didn't. Was very disappointed.
I'd gotten into the fandom through fic, and I remember the first time I watched the series I was like, "...These are totally different characters than the fanfiction led me to believe."
Ha, you realize how much you've forgotten but also how much you haven't.
OH SHIT, the Relena bashing. I remember a series of fics dedicated to coming up with all the ways she could've and should've died in the series. DDD:
Not even just the 1x2 fics, but the whole Playing House in some random safehouse Quatre conveniently owned, or how Wufei only knew the words onna and baka, or how Quatre criiiiied at all the cruuuuelty in the wooooorld, and I CAN'T EVEN.
Wow, that does not even surprise me a little. :/ Poor girl because I really liked her character's role in the show.
AHAHAHAHAHAH Quatre, is like the most underestimate character in the series. Even Heero was afraid of him and Zero so obviously there was something more to the blond, shy, pacifist exterior. I preferred the fics where they bled and had philosopical arguments.
Wasn't the fandom trope that Heero was an angel and Duo a shinigami? Or am I remembering that wrong?
I liked who she became, particularly in EW, and I only ship her and Heero as workaholic BFFs, not romantic partners, but I admit I found her irritating as hell in the beginning. Come to think of it I do believe I read a 5xR because why not and actually liked it, wtf.
I always thought of Quatre as being the most unstable and potentially cruel of the pilots - hell, wasn't he the one that snapped under Zero? Granted, he made the colony evacuate before destroying it, but he destroyed a colony and attacked Trowa.

I think Relena is a good example of character development. Cos she really was naive in the start. As Queen of The World, she was much more admirable. Wow. 5xR that was good? Intriguing.
Man Quatre got massively chickified in fanfics. But he's so bamf! Runs a muti-million corporation, has a group of rebel as minions, pilots a gigantic robot. You can't be normal and be a gundam pilot.
God, all the ooc 1x2s. You should help redeem the fandom by writing good angel!heero and shinigami!duo. For humanity.
